Who We Are...

Beth Hammer has worked in the antique business since 1981, and established Hammers Golden Peacock in 1994. She has studied oriental antiques extensively, and then moved to European and ethnic antiques. Beth feels that antiques are the study of all civilizations, and she brings with her a background in advertising and commercial art as well. She attended the Maryland Institute College of Art, and majored in painting. Although her career has spanned through a stint as a radio announcer, and a television news anchor, Beth found antiques a fascinating study. She has traveled abroad, and purchased antiques for resale in England, Spain, France, Hong Kong, Macau, China, and Korea.

Few Words About Us

Hammers Golden Peacock Antiques began primarily as an antique show business in 1991, after Beth left her association with another antiques business. Initially the company did 45 to 50 shows per year, in locations around the country. A large scale traveling antiques operation like this requires major transportation equipment, and a lot of hard hours, setting up a complete store every week in a different location.

The advent of the internet, with online auctions and websites doing the heavy work, reduced Beth's travel to a minimum, and now she does just an occasional antiques show. Her inventory is constantly changing, though, so new items are posted on a regular basis. Thanks for visiting our website and enjoying our ever changing selection.

In 1991, after establishing Hammers Golden Peacock Antiques, Beth began exhibiting in shows in such diverse locations as Miami Beach Convention Center, The Miami National Show at the Radisson Hotel, the Pier show in New York City, the Baltimore Convention Center, Chicago's Rosemont Convention Center, New Orleans, Atlanta, Brimfield Massachusetts and more. Smaller shows like the Sarasota Antiques Show and Orlando's Winter Park Antiques Show were also on her schedule, as was the Towson University Antique Show in Maryland.

Shopping for antiques can be an adventure. The ease of obtaining high-end antiques through the internet has changed antique buying radically, but there's no substitute for "hands on" purchasing that lets us examine carefully each item before buying, so that you are assured of the finest quality available.
