Ming Style Blue & White Vase
In 1368, Zhu Yuanzhang officially proclaimed himself emperor in Yingtian and founded the Ming Dynasty. It lasted until 1644. It was a period of enlightenment in China's history, with traders foraging far and wide for new and exciting ideas.
This vase is in the Ming Dynasty style, with blue leaves around the narrow flared trumpet lip, and flowers and Phoenix decorating the larger bulbous area. The vase measures 8 3/4 inches high, and is 3 1/8 inches in diameter at the trumpet neck. The base is 3 inches in diameter. This vase was recovered from a South China Seas wreck. There are no chips, no cracks, no damages.
