Authentic Antique 19th Century Russian Icon Christ Pantocrator with Saints at His Feet

an antique icon, Russian in origin, from a private collection. It portrays Christ as the Teacher, the book open to scripture, with two Saints supplicant. The robes, in red and black and gold,are delicately draped. The book of scripture is held with a cloth, showing reverence. The right hand of Christ is raised. Faces are rubbed, and all but obliterated by those who have touched them. This Icon dates circa 1830. On the rear, the original blade marks for cutting the wood for the icon are plainly seen. There also appears to be writing on the rear of the icon, in cyrillic, impressed into the wood.

This Icon measures 10 1/8 inches by 13 inches high, approximately.
