Jade Ming Dynasty Seal Chi Lung

A lovely celadon jade seal, with a crouched Chi Lung Young Dragon. This young dragon sits perched atop the seal, his tail curling downward over the edge, and then upward again. The seal base is uncarved, or has been polished smooth. One corner is slightly rounded, perhaps original and perhaps a touch of time but is very smooth, so I believe it was shaped long ago.

It measures 2 inches high, 1 3/4 inches wide where the tail protrudes over the back of the seal base. The squared seal measures just over 1 1/4 inches square. It has been held in a private collection for many years.
